Pictured below is my lash-up ferrite rod aerial connected to my Pye PCR2 communications receiver. The long and medium wave coils are selected by the switch, which will be mounted on a front panel… one day. The setup will not work on the short wave bands.
I’d had enough of my wire aerial picking up local interference on medium wave. My frame aerial worked well but it’s huge. So, I went for the ferrite option. The assembly sits on top of the radio and works extremely well. I use a wire aerial for short wave listening.
